Movie Review by Jessica Film Junkie
April 3rd, 2007

All Right

This adaptation of the children's books has a lot of really good aspects, but it is not the Tim Burton film it is trying to be.

The children are sweet and quite good actors, but the story gets so caught up in Jim Carrey playing a bunch of roles and Meryl Streep playing in the minor leagues.

The art direction is very good and it is a cool idea, I just wish it was a bit cooler, like 'Harry Potter', 'Monster House', or 'Bettlejuice'.

Huh...I really liked this movie. Of course I thought Jim Carrey was a bit over the top, but isn't he always? hehe.
