Not bad
Thank goodness for cable and thank goodness I pay for HBO and Encore, because on one of those channels I saw this movie recently. Hard to believe that this movie is based on steve martin's book which he read an excerpt from, when he was on johnny carson's show when the book came out.
This is a precious movie, sometimes dark and sometimes sad. I wonder if steve martin will ever get kudos for the serious roles that he has played in, other than being a comedian; he has an interesting, eerie range in his serious roles like this one. Claire Danes is very young in this movie, attractive of course and I wonder if that really is her backside that we see when she is lying on the bed. That was a bit hard to swallow at time, here is steve martin with a young woman like claire danes in his bed. Thank goodness for cable, now I can see a lot of movies that I had no intentions of seeing at the movies nor renting, but this movie is a nice rental. Check it out.
