How come they say cats have nine lives?

Favorite Movie Quotes from : Nine Lives

" I have an idea. Why don't you and I make out in front of her dead body? It would excite you, huh? "

First thing you must address when talking about this film is the cast. You almost feel overwhelmed with how many familiar faces there are in this movie. You have Ian McShane and Molly Parker which I was familiar with from the HBO series Deadwood. Sissy Spacek was wonderful as always.....I have followed her work closely since In The Bedroom. Robin Wright Penn who of course will always be Jenny from Forrest Gump.....but every performance that she has gave in the past 10 years has been remarkable. Also starring Miguel Sandoval which you probably remember as Ernesto Escobedo from Clear and Present Danger. Jason Isaacs who is most known for being Col. William Tavington from The Patriot, and a NICE surprise to see Amy Brenneman which was Robert Deniro's love interest in Heat. Glenn Close, Dakota Fanning, Aidan Quinn and the list goes on and on.

The film follows 9 women going through various life issues and many of the characters and stories intertwine with each other. If you have seen Crash then this film reminds me of it......do not be confused it is not a copy at all but told in the same fashion.

What I cant believe is that I have never heard of this film until now. I read that this film was seriously overlooked when released and that is 100% correct. If you are a film fan at all you will enjoy this. The talent that's involved just takes this to a different level......its amazing.

I will say that I thought Jason Isaacs and Robin Wright Penn has the best scene in the entire film together, as far as acting. I feel like Robin is overlooked a lot but I really enjoy her work. There is also a really great scene of a man at his wife's funeral....who takes his ex-wife into another room and has sex with her while everyone else is mourning the loss. What is unique about it, is that describing that scene only seems like it would be done in a comedic sense .....but its not!

I found this on the cheap rental section in the video store and would strongly recommend you putting this on your list to rent or buy.
