Less Funny, More Talky

Looking at the running time, I realize that whomever added this movie to the database, it wasn't me. Anyhoo...

I've always admired Cho's type of comedy. Much like Bill Maher, there's something to watching a person who's funny get up on stage and talk about politics and the general bullsh*t that goes along with coming from a decadent country. And normally Cho makes me laugh quite a bit. Especially when she does bits on her mother.

This time I didn't laugh as much. Her other specials managed to be just as topical and have something moving to say while drawing it all together with humour. This time she seemed to really want to say something (although honestly, there wasn't really much there that hadn't been covered before by her and better) but didn't seem to have the heart to pull it off.

Perhaps it was because she'd lost a lot of weight again and needed some nourishment, I don't know. She continues to be one of the more interesting people in comedy, she's just leaning less towards comedy these days.
