Movie Review by Zara

And it's going to get funny... when?

Someone recommended this movie to me, telling me that it was uproariously funny. When I looked into the cast involved, I was intrigued. Featuring a good number of the actors who were featured on MTV's now-defunct television series "The State," as well as the fair Elizabeth Banks and the always adorable Paul Rudd (See... these two were meant to be together, Paul) I queued it up.

Sadly, this is not the funny movie that I was promised. Shortly into the flick I found myself yawning and wondering if my friend was mentally damaged for finding it funny. There is one good part in the movie, featuring the wedding planner (Peter Dinklage, the little person in favor these days - he's currently set to star in both DEATH AT A FUNERAL and UNDERDOG) but that aside the movie is a huge snoozer.

I am going to say that I didn't hate it completely, it had an interesting concept that it promptly f*cked up, and the cast is top notch. The main problem is that they are never given the direction that is needed to pull off a comedy. The script fails them and the entire thing can be summed up in the expression of the cute-as-a-button Michelle Williams who looks like she'd rather get shot in the foot than show up for work but smiles through the whole ordeal anyhow.

And... I think that's all I have to say about this one.
