Movie Review by Zara
March 10th, 2007

Beautiful, Scary Cillian

Much like Robert Mitchum haunted flicks of yesteryear like CAPE FEAR, with simply a cool demeanor and this scary underlying tone, Cillian Murphy has managed to pick up that groove in this film. Much of the reason why it is so enjoyable is for him.

Of course, the other reason why it's believable is that Rachel McAdams turns in a strong performance. While it sucks that she got drawn into the damsel in distress role, she manages to carry it by not appearing too wimpy and yet at the same time she's not superhumanly tough or smart like some of the other roles similar to this out there.

While the plot is ludicrous, the acting is what makes this movie watchable. Plus, it's also fun to see the annoying hotel guests finally get told off. No one can deny how much fun it is to see that happen.
