Several people told me this is a really funny movie, and the reviews are pretty good, so I had some pretty high expectations going in to see this one and you know what?
It delivered.
I thought this was a good and very funny movie, with an actually surprisingly nice story, and some really brutal 'guy humor' that will give anyone a good laugh.
The actors did a great job, and I also noticed some new faces in Hollywood, some new up-and-comers in this one like Barrett Swatek (Leathal Weapon 4, 7th Heaven TV, A Piece of My Heart, On Edge, various tv show appearances, and more), the cutie who is a new face in Hollywood and who is doing a great job in some small roles in some big movies, and who knows, maybe she is to be the next Julia Roberts or Cameron Diaz? Another new face along with Barrett Swatek (who does have a very cool Hollywood name doesn't she!), is Brianna Lynn Brown (also in this movie and in Spider-Man 2, Hollywood Homicide, The Storyteller, and many tv appearances including Entourage, CSI, CSI: Miami, Smallville, and more) while also in the upcoming release Undead: 3-D, with yet another new Hollywood face -- Neil D'Monte (Pirates of the Caribbean 2, Three Stories, Vampires Anonymous, and Undead: 3-D of course), and Undead: 3-D is a new Indie horror film. These are some very busy young actors and actresses, with more and more appearances in major films, Indie pictures and tv shows. With all of these new faces appearing in so many movies and tv shows, Hollywood seems to have some new stars on the rise in Swatek, Brown and D'Monte, and it will be fun to watch and see where these and other new faces go in Hollywood!?
But, all-in-all The 40-Year-Old-Virgin is a great and funny movie with some good acting and some rather crass, but very funny scenes, and I give this one an enthusiastic 4 stars.
