On the Outs
On the Outs is an independent film written by Lori Silverbush and directed by Lori Silverbush and Michael Skolnik. This film blew me away. It follows the lives of three young woman in Jersey City. One is a drug dealer with an addict as a mother, one is a junkie who loses her baby to the state, and the other is a young teen who has become pregnant by a dealer.
This film is so realistic that you almost get the feeling that you are watching a documentary on HBO. I was completely amazed by some of the actors performances. Paola Mendoza is just sensational, this is the first film that I have been able to witness her magic but I am sure that she is an up and coming star. She is also strikingly beautiful even when you see her character at an all time low she still preserves her inveiglement, a real pleasure to view. Dominic Colon is also amazing, he plays a slow young man that has health issues due to his mother using drugs during pregnancy and at first I could not convince myself that it was a performance....but that he was indeed really like the character that he was portraying.
All around this film brings delight from the factual plot, to the splendorous character development. I unquestionably recommend this film to anyone who has an interest in real life issues and entertaining motion pictures. For more information on this film please visit www.ontheouts.com.
