Movie Review by lanie
April 11th, 2005

Some may enjoy the race to find the cause of a plague, save the world, fulfill a dream while obtain riches that no one could ever imagine, enjoy the beautiful body of Matthew McConaughey, and/or become the lucky man to get the girl at the end... a fantasy world all created in the luxury of your seat as you, the viewer, is taken in this adventurous ride around the unbelievable sights of Africa. You say it looks like an imitation of National Treasure or even an Indiana Jones flick. You probably also saying it won't compare, and i agree it will never measure up. And you're most definitely right. But Sahara holds a different objective. Sahara takes the action story to different qualities of preposterousness. Eisner wants you to have fun as they bring you to a guilty level of enjoyment. Yeah, it may seem stupid (with winks and nods at the audience cause they too know how ridiculous this is), but it provides amusement with a touch of playful and often boisterous action scenes. Don't take this movie seriously or you'll unquestionably dislike yourself for viewing it and may wonder why you even bothered. Reportedly, those who have read the book "based on" a novel by Clive Cussler says that it did a spectacular job. Who knows? We'll just have to read the book. Right?! Or wait for a person who has to post a review about it! That sounds even better! haha. Anyways like one says... in order to feel maximum enjoyment, drink plenty of beer and watch with quick-witted friends! Ye Yeah. Mission Completed.
