Movie Review by Misty
April 26th, 2007

It's Sick!

Literally.

However, I really enjoyed it. I used to hate that thing where they translate a movie from another language into English and their lips don't say the same things that you're hearing, but this film was good enough that it didn't bother me at all.

I was turned on to it by a new friend and I'm was excited to see that Netflix had it available for me to watch right away. I had a difficult time paying attention to it, because of the volume of my family, but eventually...after the third time trying to see it...I was able to watch the whole thing and understand what was going on.

It's about a man that is imprisoned for 15 years. You never think about what something like that would do to a person until you see something like this. Imprisoned for fifteen years being subjected to gas that makes you pass out and waking up with your hair cut and different things. Nobody to talk to and the worst part is not knowing why you're even there or who is doing this to you.

It's a funny twist to be released suddenly after all those years with wierd clues to all the answers you're searching for...

This movie is kind of a trip and I think anyone watching will trip out as the story progress'. I encourage people to see this film, though, because it's a pretty awesome flick!

This is one of my all time favorite movies.
Oh, and I hate dubbing too. Whenever I watch a movie that's dubbed, I end up not paying any attention to what's going on because I'm too busy making fun of how silly they look. Always watch with subtitles. :-)

Now you have to see Lady Vengeance and Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance.

Oooh...I didn't even know there were more...I'm still learning here. I would've liked to see it with subtitles, but it didn't give me the option. Thanx for telling me about the other two...I'll have to see them.

Oh no please tell me they didn't dub this movie.......nooooo. Watch it with subtitles its the only way. This movie is my favorite of the Vengence trilogy.

I wish I could've seen it with the subtitles...*sigh*

Which order does the trilogy go in?

Technically, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance came out first. Than Oldboy, than Lady Vengeance. They're unrelated stories, but they all have the same theme. Some of the actors are the same also. Like Choi Min-Sik, the actor who plays Oh Dae-Su, plays the bad buy in Lady Vengeance.

Oh sweet! Thanx Jenny! I'll have to go searching for them on Netflix. :)
