Not As Good As The Protector

I saw The Protector, which was amazing, before seeing Ong Bak, but watching The Protector got my hopes up to see what this director and actor relationship first started with. The opening scene of Ong Bak promised that the film will bring action, comedy and some really cool fight scenes to the rest of the film. But, honestly, even though the film is filled with these amazing scenes of martial arts action, I was dissapointed with some other flaws I believe the film has.

Ong Bak is a statue in which every one at Ting's village believes in as their god. But when it is taken one day, Ting must get it back!

Stupid plot outline up there, I know. Well, Tony Jaa is an amazing fighter, not to mention one crazy dude. He does more fighting and stuff in that relations then he does dialogue, thank god because his performance in The Protector was weak acting wise. Besides Tony, you will see just about everyone from The Protector first start in this film. The film is in Thai, so I had to use subtitles.

Prachya Pinkaew's directing brings back the 1970's, when there was some good martial arts films being released. He pumps the adrenaline and wakes you up using no visual effects and just being cool as hell.

Bottom Line: Fun
