Movie Review by Alex
February 24th, 2005

There are some people in this world who just make you think, "Jesus Christ that dude is ripped! It would suck SO FRICKEN BAD to get hit by him!" when you look at them....Tony Jaa is one of those people. I mean, don't get me wrong, I've seen my share of action movies and Kung Fu flicks to feel like I can imagine getting hit by one of these guys pretty well. Ong Bak makes it look real. His punches and kicks actually seem to connect and it gives Ong Bak a touch of realism that is so often lost amidst the average wire ridden, Snake & Crane vs. Panting Dog In Heat style movie. The plot makes no attempts to be deep or any real effort to do more than give a reason for Jaa to go forth and beat some fools for soothe...and, correct me if I'm wrong here, that's all we ever truly want from a martial arts film. Overall, a good combination of action, humor, chase scenes, and berserker battles. This one's worth seeing.
