Movie Review by Seth C
August 3rd, 2006

So awhile back on this little site of ours, I criticized "Monster-In-Law" for being a completely unrealistic film (not to mention unfunny film) wherein the two main characters go to such extreme lank's to get rid of each other that they practically kill each other without batting an eye of sorrow. However, now here I sit recommending a film that when you get down to is pretty much only about two bratty kids who go to extremes to get rid their mother's new boyfriend. And in which on more than one occasion the said boyfriend shouldn't have lived through the child-made disasters he endure.

So, what's the difference, you ask?

Well, something about "Are We There Yet?" struck me as, dare I say, cute. Maybe it's because I grew up in a time where slapstick holiday films reign supreme ("Home Alone," anyone?) and this film filled my nostalgic need for an entertaining, yet no real substance holiday, semi-family flick.

What can I say, I'm a sucker for those happy Christmas films and somehow this one got to me ... ever so slightly.
