A Sequel Which Beats The Predecessor

Spider-Man 2 is a really different film from Spider-Man. Sam Raimi continues directing the series, and actually does a better job on this then on the first film. This time around we get even more character development from the first film as Peter begins to decide his fate. Theres more action, better special effects and a new villian to add in the mix. Doc Ock. Not only do we get two hours of entertainment, but we learn how difficult it is to be something your not.

In Spider-Man 2, Peter learns an important lesson. As Doc Ock suddenly begins terrorizing the city, Spider-Man continuously begins coming to the rescue. As things heat up between him and MJ, he learns something. He begins to believe that Spider-Man is slowly ruining his life. Now he must choose between himself or the mask.

The film greets us with plenty of huge, special effects filled action segments. The fights are simply put as fantastic and Sam Raimi knows the perfect way to shoot them to make them look and feel great.

Tobey Maguire simply puts on a great performance. This movie wouldnt be Spider-Man without him playing the role. Kirsten Dunst also does an excellent job playing as MJ Watson, a very complex and confusing character in the SM world.

Bottom Line: A Heartfelt Film
