Stop Vaughn before he acts again!
OK, Vaughn wasn't always this bad. There was a time when I thought that he could be a very promising actor. Somewhere around the time of SWINGERS. Since then, with all of the lame comedies that he's contributed to... eh.
There were a lot of people who highly enjoyed this movie about a group of losers who like to work out at a small gym where the owner (Vaughn) never really charges them their fees. When the a**hole next door (Stiller) in the big gym threatens to take away his building so that he can bulldoze it and create more parking for his own gym, the losers band together to save the establishment.
Most of the time this movie is just plain mean-spirited. It's supposed to show guys who overcome their own insecurities and figure out their own personal inner strengths. Most of the time all that happens are crude jokes and sh*t being thrown at people in an attempt to get the audience to laugh.
Well, most of the time I didn't.
I do like Alan Tudyk as the pirate. That man can't do any wrong in my book. Justin Long is amusing as well as the wanna be cheerleader. Gotta love a guy who's secure enough in his masculinity to be all rah-rah.
Other than that... blah.
