Movie Review by Zara
March 12th, 2007

I am Puss...

After the surprising success of the first movie, two sequels were planned at the same time, the first of which being this one and second (or third, however you look at it) coming out later this year.

The best addition to the cast is of course Puss in Boots, voiced in a perfect manner by Banderas in a turn that is obviously poking fun at his Zorro character. Adding more scenes with some of the scene-stealers from the last movie helps as well, including getting to see more of the high-pitched voice of the gingerbread man.

Making fun of current trends as well as poking a great deal of fun at the concept of other fairytales, this movie comes out a big winner when it takes chances. The thong scene with Pinnochio, the homage to the TV show cops, where Puss is found with cat nip on him, all of it makes for a movie which delights adults and still manages to keep the kids interested.

I know that there are people who are offended by the nature of Shrek. People who feel that we are allowing children to watch movies that are too crude. Well, I say f*ck them. ;)
