Movie Review by Seth
February 15th, 2005

When I told my girlfriend I was going to go see this movie, she accused me of going to see a "chick flick." I disagreed, telling her that instead, the movie was about "being a man."

I was right.

Though Scarlett Johansson is her normally appealing self and the/a love interest, the story lies much more with the relationship between Topher Grace and Dennis Quaid. Even more so, it is about each man's individual search to find out how to balance their wants with their needs, their strengths with their weaknesess, and what it means to be a man these days.

The film is full of men of all different archetypes and does a good job of getting to the core of each.

But though I talk about this movie in the more philosophical sense, it is still a mainstream movie with recognizable stars and fairly standard plot twists and turns. It is definitely better and deeper than you're average Hollywood flick, but don't expect it to change your life.
