Movie Review by James
June 1st, 2005

This is a great movie, and it is a little hard to watch, so if you have a soft heart or a weak stomach, then you might want to rent a Disney then! But, this is an outstanding movie showing the terrible and violent struggle in Rwanda, and how so many attrocities were dealt to the poor people of this ravaged nation. Don Cheadle is a wonderful actor, and he definitely deserved his nomination for best actor, and I hope someday he wins the Oscar! This movie also touched me on a very personal level, as I hold a bachelors degree from top ranked USC in the field of International Relations. When the horror and attrocities of ruthless genocide were happening in Rwanda, I was earning my degree in international politics, and found it very hard to watch the news reports on what was happening in Rwanda. What I found even harder to watch, was how the west, the United States and Europe, stood by and watched it go on, without doing a thing to stop the horrors of genocide, and yet now we are in Iraq, why weren't we helping Rwanda then??
