Bad Education (2004)

It is hard for Almodovar to exceed expectations, as he is always daring and creative in his films, and one expects them to be excellent.
This is no exception, as he takes on the Catholic Church, and by extension, the Franco regime. His selection of Gael Garcia Bernal (Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries) was brilliant. He actually shines in this film, playing three roles.
I won't go into details, as you cannot avoid exposing plot points and ruining the film by commenting. It was an enchanting story with plenty of twists.
Fele Martínez (Talk to Her) and Lluís Homar (Rottweiler) also added immensely to the film.
The art direction and music was outstanding, as I have come to expect from Almodovar's films.
Almodovar is becoming my favorite writer/director and I will be in line as soon as his next film is announced.
Matchflick is going to have to all more of his films as I plan to see them all!
