Let me start by saying, this is not a movie to bring your 8 year old child to, but you already knew that, right? I don't want to give TOO much away, but I will do my best to talk about the movie without blowing the whole thing. We have a man who kidnaps worthy victims, and puts them in bizarre situations in which they have to make life/death decisions in relatively short periods of time. We find Adam and Dr. Gordon who wake up chained to opposite walls of a musty bathroom that looks like its been abandoned for years. And quickly you will find yourself getting involved wanting to know more. It's fun watching them slowly try to figure out their predicament.
As the film rolls along we get taken into a few more puzzles, with new unlucky victims. But for the most part we just get to see them temporarily. If you've seen the "Razor Wire" and "Helmet" teasers don't expect to see a whole lot more. The movie doesn't take you any further down those paths. In other words, "Saw" revolves around the rundown bathroom. Which isn't so bad. The scenery looks really good.

It terrifies and honestly, I had goosebumps...did they turn down the air inside the theater? NO! It is your sweat dripping down your skin causing your nerves and all 5 of your senses to experience something beyond anyone can ever experience!! You have to watch it to believe it!
If only the blind could see beyond what is simply seen. Sure, this movie isn't perfect. There are a couple of scenes that make ones eyes roll in disappointment. However, this movie is excellent for it's 2 hours of entertainment value and the way it communicates to us, the viewer, that we shouldn't take our lives for granted.

The creativity behind Saw is awesome and once again the critics got it wrong. There are so many movies, so much eye candy, so much loud sound that most movie goers are numb to the symbolism and message that each director/screenwriter/actor are trying to communicate. Saw also does have a very good twist at the end. If you figure out the "puzzle pieces" and how everything is connected and you're very bright you could probably figure it out the twist. Though I really think the movie does a good job of throwing you off and making you think you know the twist before throwing the big twist on you.
It is violent, but not gory. Much of the action is off camera and all you hear is the sounds which are very terrible sounding and possibly place more violent images in your head than the actually viewing could. I think part of the style of the movie is not showing you everything and making you picture it in your mind, which tends to be worse than anything they could probably come up with. The movie is not one for the weak of heart even without showing everything in detail. It still is visually violent.
Altogether, this is a very good, creepy, and memorable movie.
