It's really impressive that a film can be only the second film in it's genre, and still play into all the genre cliches exactly. I can't help but wonder how many times the makers of "The Grudge" watched the American version of "The Ring" leading up to filming, because that's where they pick up every trick they know. Sarah Michelle Gellar is passable at best, every scare is nothing but a cheap startle, and the plot isn't really worth following.
Reccomendation to avoid, unless you're particularly bored.
