Need I Say More
With the sudden rush for spoof movies to be made, most of them are absoulutely horrible. Shaun of The Dead is a perfectly great spoof film. George A. Romeros Dawn of The Dead and Zack Snyders remake of Dawn of The Dead are both spoofed on in this britich comedy. Starring just about everyone from the new Hot Fuzz, which was great, the film is terrific. Its covered in gore, humor and laugh out loud moments. Its the perfect movie.
Shaun (Simon Pegg) is an average everyday guy. He works a dead end job at an electric store and lives with his best friend Ed (Nick Frost). When he wakes up one day after a break up with his girlfriend Liz (Kate Ashfield), his world seems to turn upside down when flesh eating humans begin to attack them everywhere they turn.
I have never seen Simon Pegg before this movie. Hes drop dead hilarious and isnt the smartest Shaun in the box. Nick Frost nails the role of Ed beyond perfect. Kate Ashfield does really well to, getting her role just perfect and never exaggerating her character to much.
This is a spoof of a zombie film, so in horror movie style, the gore is definately here. We get some pretty nice CG blood moments, along with that we get the classic human eating scenes and a beautiful scene of a man being torn apart.
The directorial style of the movie is great, I really dug all the crazy camera angles and cool effects.
Bottom Line: Perfect
