Movie Review by Jenny
February 27th, 2007

In honor of the DVD release of the sequel "Open Water 2: Adrift", here's my review.

I remember when this came out. Marketed as the next big scary thing, I had really been looking forward to seeing this one. For some reason, I didn't get around to it until it was at the dollar theater. Thank God I only paid a dollar.

The movie opens with a little background about the couple. They're hoity toity and on a dream vacation. And then there's unneccessary nudity...what? Really, make with the suspense already.

The couple, of course, gets left out in the middle of the ocean. A scenario that completely sucks. They could have made it more interesting though. I was surprised to see that the run time was only 79 minutes, because it feels like so much longer. Tread water, tread water, tread water, talky talky, "I'm so scared", tread water, tread water, die.

Wait a minute. Why didn't the cameraman save them? Now that would have been interesting. This? This was one of the biggest disappointments next to "Cry Wolf" and "Wolf Creek".

I was so glad that they died. I mean, it sucks in real life, but the actors were so boring. :)
I didn't find it creepy in the least.

well i mean through the whole film i was like someone please find out their out there and help them so the movie ends and i was hoping for a huge heroic save in the end then the girl just freaking goes under water and dies HOW STUPID!!!!
and like i said before if i was in the middle of the ocean like that I'd be scared and just seeing someone with NO ONE around is kinda creepy
