One of the Best Comedies Ever Made!

Mean Girls Movie Review

Director: Mark Waters

Actors: Lindsay Lohan, Tina Fey, and Rachel McAdams

Rated PG-13: For Sexual Content, Language and Some Teen Partying

Tina Fey wrote Mean Girls, in which a formerly home-schooled girl named Cady (Lindsay Lohan) gets dropped into the sneaky, vicious world of the Plastics, three adolescent glamor-girls who dominate their public high school's social heirarchy. Cady first befriends a couple of art-punk outsiders who persuade her to infiltrate the Plastics and destroy them from within--but power corrupts, and Cady soon finds the glory of being a Plastic to be seductive.

Well, let me first just start by saying this has got to be one of the funniest and best movies of the year 2004. Mean Girls has Wonderful Acting, Great Directing, Good Special Effects, and Magnificent Writing. Let me start off by stating the obvious thing that people are saying about this film that it is a "chick flick" and with the recent flops of "chick flicks" (Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen) I would not agree with this statement at all because this movie has brains and laughs and most of the "chick flicks" out there don't. The Writing in this film has got to be its strongest spot even though some are hesitant to see this because of the fact that it was written by a first time writer Tina Fey. Which by the way is a Brilliant writer and I would like to say Thank her for finally making a movie that is hilarious and smart at the same time. The Acting would probably have to be its second strongest spot, Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, and Amanda Seyfried are Perfect for there roles of the "Mean Girls" and Lizzy Caplan and Daniel Franzese are also perfect for their role of the best friends, but out of all of them there's only two that stand out the most and those are Tina Fey and Lindsay Lohan (I know I already mentioned Lindsay but I feel she should be mentioned twice) their roles were just outstanding. The special effects in the movie were good I guess I just didn't see a lot of them. The Directing was also very good the vision, colors, camera angels, and just everything was great.

Overall this is one of the best films of 2004 and if you like smart hilarious comedies or Lindsay Lohan you'll love this movie without a doubt!

The movie is inappropriately dismissed as being a "chick flick" when really it's just a straight up comedy, no more chick-ish than an Adam Sandler flick. Well, other than the fact that there are more girls in this one.

Good movie and sharp review!

Mark Waters, the director, studied under Stuart Rosenberg, a director of series television and theatrical films who captured the simmering anti-authoritarianism of the late 1960s in the widely popular Paul Newman prison drama "Cool Hand Luke." He died on Thursday at his home in Beverly Hills, Calif.
