Pssst...

I need to admit a little secret. I've never watched the original version of this movie. I've seen some of the other installments that Romero did, but this one... nope.

I will say that without that knowledge the best that I can do is give you the run-down on what I thought of this movie. As a zombie flick, it's sharp around the edges and has what it takes to grab you. I've always been a HUGE fan of Sarah Polley and love that quiet look her face gets when she's really studying the situation in front of her.

One of the things that I liked best about this DVD set is that they have some killer bonus features including a video diary of the man across the street trapped in the gun shop. I'm not normally one of those people who goes digging around in the extras, but something about this disc called to me to check them out. I highly recommend you doing the same.

And yes Paul. I promise I'll get around to watching the first.

Great flick. I just revisited it again and I loved it better the second time around. Good example of a grind house film to get in the mood for next weekend.

Oh hell, don't bother. I hated the original. If you do watch it, try to seek out the Dario Argento cut, under the name Zombi. I have a VHS dub of it, somewhere. Anyway, I loved the remake. Saw it three times in the theater :)

I watched the DVD extras too. For some reason the guy reminds me of Ted Nugent, can't quite figure out why though.
