Far Too pu**y!
Imagine, if you will, a world where a the great DC Comics character Catwoman, is set up in a Batman film, with an origin that is a rip off of The Crow comic, and completely contrary to the comic origin, but works never the less, mainly due to the director's eye for slyness.
Now imagine, that you get a sexy star, who plays Catwoman as the very embodiment of madness, but plays her sexy and sympathetic enough to be likable, even though she is a 'baddie'.
Now, pretend in this world that this character, created by comic legend, finally, after years of development hell, gets her own film, and is played by an equally sexy actress, an Oscar winner no less, but is written by someone who usually only writes for TV, and is directed by a Frenchman who is known only by a single name, and who is known better for his visual effects skills.
Tragically, my dear movie loving friends, YOU live in this world.
I believe there is no reason to recount the tale of Patience Phillips (Halle Berry) who is murdered, but brought back to life by the spirit of the cat-god as Catwoman, to avenge herself against those who crossed her, and in doing so uncovers a heinous plot hatched by a cosmetics giant.... no, there is NO reason to recount that tale at all.
I don't think I need to describe at length how bad this film is,as I could probably just let the 4 wins from 7 nominations at the Razzies (the anti-Oscars, for terrible films) speak for themselves. I will say however, if this director is a 'Visual Effects' expert, he needs to get his eyes checked, cause some of the CGI effects in this film, well, let's just say the Commodore 64 could have provided better and more realistic looking artificial Ms Berrys.
...after all that heckling though, I will admit this film is, on occasion, a guilty pleasure...c'mon, Halle's easy on the eye...I am only a man, you know. I watch it, I enjoy it, and then I hang my head in shame at doing so.
The best way to really comment on this film is to say it is so bad it become so good that it goes back to bad again.

| After an Oscar win, all actresses are required to do a really stupid movie. It helps to keep them honest, don't you know? ;) |
