I'd rather have one and not need it, then need it and not have one. " Thats just one of the great lines of this film. Aliens Vs Predator is years of history. You may or may not know that there was a comic book developed back in the 90's for this battle. I remember back when I was 15 talking to my other geek friends that "pretty soon, anytime now they are coming out with an Alien Vs Predator movie." The next year it would be the same thing from someone else saying they had heard that. Magazines where speculating about it, everyone that followed it was just waiting on it.......but it never came....................... Then another long awaited VS film came out...........being Freddy VS Jason.... It made bank at the box office and then I guess the right idiot at Fox decided that you know what......Alien VS Predator would probably do good too......SO then it was made. The biggest disappointment I have about this film is......Lets use common sense here.......Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, and Alien Resurrection.....ALL RATED 'R' Predator 1 and Predator 2.......BOTH RATED 'R' Alien VS Predator........RATED 'PG-13' What the hell happened........????? How do you take 2 different franchises which are 'R' rated and put them together to make them PG-13?? I'm still trying to figure that one out. So the special effects are good, the story is ok it could have been worse but it seems a little too fake........The actors weren't bad in fact there is some good talent present. The first battle of the Alien and Predator is almost half way through the movie which makes it seem rather long until the action starts. I could care less about seeing Lance Henrikson back it would have been better to see Michael Biehn, Bill Paxton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, hell even Carl Weathers........anybody but Lance......I don't care about the story its a freaking movie they could have wrote it in some how. Even though I felt mistakes were made, this film was thrown together to try and bank on Freddy VS Jason's success.......I still enjoy it......and watch it from time to time.....I have read that AVP 2 will be 'R' rated so that is good news on that end! email this review to a friend
