Standard New Age Wanna Be Slasher

What is it with people making movies that are supposed to be similar in feel to the set of films that were released in the early '80's and late '70's? WRONG TURN, along with CABIN FEVER are just a couple examples of movies that are made in the heart of the older flicks with all the cheesiness of a new menu item from Taco Bell.

The problem with them is that while they're just as good in quality (actually better when you consider that filming processes and editing have gotten better over the years) they tend to put a great big highlighter across the fact that the movies we all have such a grand sense of nostalgia for were actually crap movies as well.

This is the tale of a group of teenagers whose car breaks down out in the middle of nowhere and then are subsequently tormented by a group of mutated hillbillies. The only reason why I decided to watch this flick was because Jeremy Sisto was in it and I've been a fan of his for some time.

Sadly, Dusku is also in it. Which is the weak point.

I can't say it's bad, I can't say it's good. I can only say that it's disappointing in many ways and yet does have a couple of undeniable yucky bits here and there. I'll also say that I liked it more than CABIN FEVER, a movie that I thoroughly wanted to rip my eyes out after watching.

So... there you go.

Wrong Turn was one of the better horror movies from the past few years.......I am excited that they are making a sequel.

To me, if you're going to copy the standard plot, there has to be something more to it which makes it special. Super evil villains, a great leading lady who can't be denied... SOMETHING. This movie isn't bad, but it's average, which can sometimes be worse than being bad.

Check out "They" , "Darkness Falls", and "FearDotCom" and this movie will seem like The f*cking Wizard of Oz.....

I agree with Zara this movie was watchable but nothing to write home about, I have no idea why they would feel the need to make a sequel though....I'm bored just contemplating it.

I can see what you are doing AZ. You are right, a very average teen horror, a well done average teen horror, you're just slaggin' it 'cause my future wife's in it. Jealousy is an ugly thing, it may just bite you in the ass when nothing else will. ;-P
