Movie Review by Seth C
October 18th, 2006

Clint Eastwood creates a film with more emotion then possibly anything I've ever seen before. Throughout "Mystic River's" entire two hour plus runtime I felt like I was going to breakdown into tears, however because of Eastwood's knowledge and gift of filmmaking, he doesn't allow us to. Eastwood doesn't insult his audience's emotions by giving us scenes shot in slow motion with a thundering orchestra behind it, forcing us to feel some sort of emotion. All he gives us is the story and it's main characters, and it's with this that we are given more emotion then most dramas before it and more suspense then any action film would dare to photograph.

"Mystic River" is an extraordinarily great film that I can't wait to see again. Sean Penn is perfect, while his fellow cast - Tim Robbins, Kevin Bacon and Laurence Fishburne - shine brighter then the ever have before, while Marcia Gay Harden gives possibably another Oscar winning performance as a scared, unknowing wife.

There is never a dull moment in "Mystic River" because the filmmakers allow these characters to become something to all of us in the audience. And with the decisions each character makes effects us in ways I don't think we could have prepared ourselves for when we first sat down to view the film. I urge everyone to witness this film because in no way do I believe you will be dissappointed. I just don't think it's possible.
