Movie Review by Zombie Boy
December 19th, 2007

I saw this one in the theater, but recently got it on a Stephen King comp. disc.

I liked it okay, but just okay. I can't compare it to the book, because this is one of the few King books I haven't read.

A bunch of friends have some limited psychic ability, due to their interaction with a developmentally disabled man named affectionately nicknamed Dudditz. These powers come in handy when aliens invade earth. Something they have apparently done enough times to merit a secret band of army scalawags with the sole purpose of keeping a lid on them.

Also, the aliens breed in your ass. Yeah. In your ass.

There are fine performances by fine actors, making the best of this silly material. Most notably Jason Lee and Donnie Wahlberg. Damien Lewis also gets extra-credit for playing two accents so well that I couldn't tell which was his naturally.

See this for the crassness and grossness of it, and for the performances. But best check your expectations for anything else at the door.

Olyphant is the man. I also can't refrain from the I AM DUDDITZ!!!" comment whenever beating a foe.

Hell, I should use that more with you in Scrabbles. If I ever win more...

In the special features, there is an outtake between Thomas Jane and Donnie Wahlberg that is absolutely priceless.

"Dude, I said, 'Un Irm Ills Urld!'"

Ah yes, you've caught me. I am not always the special features girl. In fact, I think I caught this on HBO the first time I watched it, so those weren't even an option.

I didn't get around to renting this, always saying "some other time". Now that I hear this -

"Also, the aliens breed in your ass. Yeah. In your ass."

I might have to say never.

Well, there is a basic difference between the two of us: that comment would make me RUN to update my queue :)

You can get this comp. disc that also contains Creepshow, Dolores Claiborne, and Cat's Eye. That's not a bad deal for ten bucks.

most notable Tom Sizemore......come on now show Mr.Meth some love. Morgan Freeman is great to and the scene with the "mowing" of the aliens is just crazy.
