Movie Review by Jessica Film Junkie
March 10th, 2007

Close To Epic

I actually really liked this movie. I thought the casting was great, Nicole Kidman is devastastingly lovely and Jude Law is sex on a stick. It is sometimes a bit slow, but Anthony Minghella really tries to make an old fashioned epic and it comes very close.

The story is about lovers ripped apart by the Civil War and the man trying to return to his love while she tries to make it on her own with a lot of assistance from a tough female farmhand (Renee Zellweger). I like that Zellweger is a bit scrappy for once and I really felt the chemistry between Kidman and Law.

Under-rated
