Prrrrreachy

This movie was one of the many "returns to comedy" for Jim Carrey. The man keeps trying to stretch and the public keeps telling him that they want him to dance like the monkey that he is. That's got to be a depressing scenario.

Which is what the majority of this movie is. Jennifer Aniston barely registers above obnoxious (which is weird, because as Rachel I always thought she was really funny on the show. As a movie actress she just looks constipated and out of place) as well as the "I want to strangle her" angle on Lisa Ann Walter as her sister.

Frankly, the best scene in this movie will always be the one that has nothing to do with Carrey but people usually give him credit for. It's the scene with Steve Carell acting a fool as if Carrey is controlling what he is doing when he's on camera. That forever will be the only reason why I would watch this movie again.

Other than that, there's just so much preachiness on top of the comedy that it feels as if you were tricked into a time-share seminar. At least you knew what you were getting into with EVAN ALMIGHTY.

I always thought about how much fun it would be to have "the power" and what I'd do with it. Definitely wouldn't be wasting it pulling the moon closer or blowing skirts up...well...maybe the skirts. ;)
