Movie Review by Zara
March 14th, 2007

Shut up.

Yeah, I liked this movie. While not the best of films (and I say this not having seen the original version), I still think that it was entertaining enough and unique enough to hold my interest.

Madonna playing a spoiled brat who ends up stranded on an island with a man who she treated like sh*t? Don't you think that's the singer's worst nightmare? I can actually picture it happening and I suppose that's why I feel as if she did a good job, eventually having to cater to the man that she once wouldn't have spit on if he was on fire. When he proves to be her only way to getting shelter, food and possibly rescue, she must become his servant. I tell you, that part is a delight to watch.

I think this movie also benefits from her husband (Guy Ritchie) and his strong directorial hand. Ritchie has made some of the better movies to come out of Britain in a long time and I think it's unfair that he took sh*t for making this movie. All things considered, and you can talk sh*t about me all you want for believing this, but I think he did a damn fine job and made a decent movie for something that is out of his normal range.

So step off, haters!!
