Mendes The Master
Sam Mendes' follow up to 'American Beauty' is this tremendous film about fathers and sons, lies and betrayals and the darkness that lies within each of us.
Tom Hanks is cast as a good father with a dark side that he uses to work for the mastermind (the great Paul Newman).
When Hanks' family becomes intertwined with his work, he is forced to act, for better or worse.
This is a haunting and often dark film by Mendes. But is works, the performances match the brilliant directing and further the career of a masterful filmmaker.
