Talk about character actors....
Personal Velocity is about 3 different women who are all having troubles in their lives. The film is shot as three short stories in which after leaving one character you never return back to seeing what's going on.
The first woman you follow is Kyra Sedgwick which plays a woman who is tired of being physically abused by her husband, so she takes off and moves to another town with her children. Living in the garage of an old high school acquaintance whom she was never really friends with, she must start over and try to get her life back in order.
The second woman is played by Parker Posey. She is a married editor which lands a huge deal with one of the most popular novelist out at the moment. The only problem is she can not control her lust for other men and as perfect as her husband may be she is still not happy.
The third and final woman is played by the mysterious Fairuza Balk. She is on a driving rampage, confused with her life after a man she met at a bar is hit and killed by a car while they were walking outside. Blaming herself for the accident she struggles to grasp what her destiny in life is.
The films plot is a step above average, but the actresses playing the characters just do a fantastic job. Kyra Sedgwick really impressed me with her portrayal of the character given to her. Posey and Balk where both wonderful as well. There is some sexual content but for you Mr. Skin fans I don't think that there is any nudity, if there is then it was not worth remembering.
