When I talk to people about this movie, they always ask if it's like the Dead Poet Society. It's not. Kevin Kline gives an outstanding preformance as a teacher just trying to be the best that he can be, and make a positive difference in the lives of everyone of his students. When he reaches a challenge, he welcomes it with open arms, and while he may do some unethical things to over come that challenge, he tries as hard as he can. Emile Hirsch gives an amazing preformance as well, matching Kline in every aspect. His presence on screen is natural, and he is always amusing to watch. The movie itself could not be better. It embodies many quatlities that I find admirable. The comic aspects of the movie do not cloud over the dramatic, important messages and scenes of the movie, but provide the perfect touch to make the film more amusing to watch. I was amazed by the ability of the many young actors in the movie, which include, aside from Emile Hirsch, Jesse Eisenberg, Paul Dano, and Rishi Mehta. The support adult cast has talent to, and while in very little of the movie, Embeth Davidtz does light up the screen from time to time. You should, if you have not already, see this movie...at least once, and it is best watched with a friend and some chocolate.

| Since I got hooked on Emile in LORDS OF DOGTOWN, I went and rented a couple of the other flicks he's been in. This is one that I've missed, apparently. I will most definitely check this out, thanks. |
