Movie Review by Zara
October 28th, 2007

No pointing fingers.

I want to start off by saying that I've not only not read the book that this was based on, I've never read anything by Robert Ludlum. In fact, most of the time spy sh*t bores the crap out of me.

Which wasn't supposed to bode well for this movie, especially when you add the fact that I'm one of those people who makes fun of poor Damon, capitalizing on the "Maaaattttt Dayyyyymoooooon," quote from TEAM AMERICA.

But this movie was interesting to me. Sure, it's got all of the prerequisite holes in its plot (the little kids stopping him from doing his job, although I suppose that could be fully explained in retrospect in a later film) and the simple to find romance (although Potente made it easier to swallow because she's just so wonderfully off the Hollywood map), but overall the movie is a fun ride if you don't take it too seriously.

Plus, it manages to to a bang up job setting the viewer up to be interested in watching the upcoming sequels, proven by the fact that both of them have gone on to make more money than their predecessor(s). (I'll be on SUPREMACY tomorrow.)
