40 days and 40 nights...

Okay, I was bored on Sunday and this movie was on and I always wanted to check it out but, I never took the time to actually sit down and watch the whole thing. Well, nothing was on television and I decided now was the best time to check it out.
Really, the movie wasn't that bad, of course, it's not on my top ten, but very interesting. Since my boyfriend cheated on me, I have been interested in movies about guys and how they think and what drives them to do the things they do, so I also wanted to know if this guy could stand by his word and not have sex for that length of time he agreed to. I truly didn't think it could be done or I didn't believe this guy could keep true to his word.
So, anyways, Josh Hartnett is in love with this girl, they break up, and every relationship he has had since her, he can't seem to shake how he felt about her and he ends up ruining these new relationships before they can ever get started. So he comes up with a plan, for Lent, he will give up sex. He feels he doesn't need sex anymore, this also is a decision he makes after he learns she is engaged and is moving on.
During this no sex period, he meets a new girl, Shannyn Sossamon, which he falls for, but is banned from doing anything with and he can't tell her, because he doesn't want her to know the real reason he began this. But he holds to his plan, which begins to backfire on his new relationship because Shannyn finds out that there is a betting pool going on about his no sex rule and she thinks it is about her and it creates this huge mess, but they work through it.
In the end, he makes it to the last couple of minutes, and by this time he is going crazy, but (spoiler alert) his ex-girlfriend betrays him in the end and makes him lose the bet. Does he get the girl in the end???

I could do 40 days and 40 nights no problem.....as long as there was a reward at the end!

and what if there wasn't a reward, would that make it harder to stick with? hmmmmm.........

well I dont see a reason to stick with it unless you are getting something for it in the end.......but im sure plenty of guys go way more then 40 days.......just not by choice!

I was stationed on a radar site in Iceland for a year. All guys! We were restricted to the site for the most part because Icelandics are fishermen and gone from home for long periods and they didn't want us in town messing with their women. So, 40 days is a snap!

I stayed too busy to be bored. I got up every morning to do a tw-hour radio show before I went to work at my real job. Then I would show the movies every night after work. Sometimes I would even do another radio show after the movie.
