Movie Review by Zara
January 29th, 2007

Really, really ridiculously good looking

This movie was released right after the Twin Towers fell on 9/11/2001. People were concerned about what they should and shouldn't release, what would offend people, etc. Arnie's COLLATERAL DAMAGE was pulled from the roster for months, to return later and score a dismal box office. ZOOLANDER, however, was released to mixed critical reviews and the relief of a nation which needed to laugh.

I like this movie for the interaction between Stiller and Wilson, a team which has profited and suffered from their pairing. People tend to eventually turn their backs on something formerly loved if Hollywood saturates them with it. Just a word to the wise for those guys.

But my favorite part was the great turn by Will Ferrell (that hair? It's really his, dyed to a platinum blonde. Seriously!). Yet another one of those actors that people either love or hate, I'm actually somewhat ambivalent towards him. If he's funny, I'll give him the credit that he's owed. He's funny in this role.

Oh, and I do believe this is the one time that I found Winona Ryder to be appropriately used.
