Tries too hard

Trying so hard to be a good romantic comedy this movie fails due to lame plot devices, recycled cliches and no chemistry.

I really tried to like this movie. I love John Cusack, I love Kate Beckinsale. But something about the both of them together just doesn't make sense. It is kinda weird. Plus he acts like a buffoon for most of the movie, while she seems like a lunatic hell-bent on weird superstition and ideas about faith and destiny.

Lame.
