Movie Review by Lisa
February 14th, 2007

There may be spoilers if you don't like it don't read it.

I like this movie more than I should and I don't care who knows it. I guess there still remains a little hopeless romantic somewhere inside me, and I love John Cusack always have ever since I saw him in "One Crazy Summer" he was the first guy I ever wanted to marry.

Jack and Sara have a chance meeting in the midst of Christmas shopping for they're other halves and immediately hit it off. However instead of exchanging numbers Kate felt that they should let the fates decide by putting her number in a book which she would sell to a book store and putting Jacks number on a $5 bill, if it gets back to them they were meant to be. 7 years later it obviously didn't work as Jack is about to get married (not to Sara) and Sara has just got engaged to a weird musician.... but both still hold a torch for each other. A search ensues and the movie shows how they keep missing each other until.........well it doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out the ending.

So if you're in a mushy romantic comedy kinda mood give this one a shot (or don't). Molly Shannon offers her usual brand of comedic relief and Jeremy Piven can do no wrong in my eyes.

Definately a chick flick...but I am a chick and I loved this flick. I think all that hope that there is that soulmate out there who will find you in spite of life...will love this movie.

Chick flick, schmick flick. This movie is a good one. I like the message. It's best summarized by a character in another movie, Jenna Elfman's angel stripper in "Cant Hardly Wait" She says, "Fate. There is such a thing as fate but it only takes you so far then it's up to you to make it happen."

This is what this movie is about for me...we'll except for the last ice rink scene. That last part was all Hollywood but until then it's about opening the door of destiny when you hear a knock, even if you have to kick the door open.

Piven, of course, does a great job. The man is a genius. He and Eugene Levy steal the show often, especially when together.
