Movie Review by haley

lf Shakespeare listened to Bad Company...

he would be proud of this ingenious film adaptation of MacBeth...

I admit, i hate modernizations of Shakespeare plays as much as i hate bad covers of classic songs... but this film really does it right!

First of all, while MacBeth deals with the control of kingdoms, in this version the audience is watching the overthrow of the owner of a fast food resturant.

Wait, you purists, before you get turned off, trust me that it is pulled off beautifully. The three magic witches becomes three teenage drunk/drug users that tell the future in crytic, silly, and stoned voices.

Lady MacBeth is played convincingly by Maura Tierney, who instead of being a "Lady", is actually a cashier at the restuarant and married to the fry cook.

But even as the language and scenery are modernized, well modernized to the mid 1970s, the story is the same... a well preserved story of power, dumb luck, greed, love, and insanity... a work of art!

and the bonus of it is... anyone who mildly enjoys classic rock can headbang to the four-play of Bad Compnay.... "I Can't Get Enough of your Love".... yes, i admit it, i had to get up and dance just for that...

If a movie is based on an older story and the film maker don't modernize it, they tend to spend more time making the movie look authentic, than they do on making the movie good.

This movie actually sounded interesting until you had to ruin it for me by that Bad Company is on the soundtrack. Well, I can always watch the movie with subtitles and the sound turned down.
