Movie Review by Zara
February 23rd, 2009

I guess this movie had some stuff going against it in my opinion and no, that doesn't include me having watched the original and been against a remake. I haven't seen the original. I don't even have that strong of a dislike for those involved in the cast, even with most of them having stupendously bloated media importance.

Nah, what ended up bugging me the most about what still is just a standard caper flick is the combined smarmy attitude that everyone gave off as a whole. I decided to rate the movie as if I didn't know the people in it, giving the film the median rating because it is... just a standard robbery caper. There is nothing special here that hasn't been done and done and done again over and over again with people more charismatic and directors less concerned with flash and dazzle and more hands deep into trying to fool the viewer.

I caught this movie by chance on cable the other day, playing with minimal ads and minimal edits (cursing, etc) and it was good for occupying my time at the moment. It's definitely a movie I'm glad I didn't pay to see in a theater.
