Meta as all hell
This is one of the most misunderstood comedies in recent years. It is not really about the titular Archie comic rockers, it is about consumerim, brain-washing and capitalist America.
Josie and the girls become the product of a Svengali-like record producer played brillianly by Parker Posey. She is a weird as f*ck woman who is all about appearance the allmighty dollar.
As the film unfolds, we discover that celebrities are little more than cardboard cut-outs, that boy bands can survive plane crashes and that pop music is made in a computer.
This is an original and sparkling comedy for the age of the consumer, after all pink is the new orange.

Although I do like Rosario Dawson this movie was arse ....at least the spice sluts didn't attempt to play instruments.
And Tara Reid ...she needs to be neutered....or shot either or. |
