Movie Review by Zara
January 29th, 2009

If only this movie had been released around this year, when Hannah Montana and High School Musical stuff is at its peak... it might have been a contender. Sure, it was based on an old cartoon that most of the kids' parents these days haven't even heard of, but the movie is splashy, filled with stupid pop music and glittering with shiny costumes.

Instead, the movie came at a time when nobody cared. And sadly, it actually tried to implant some social commentary while broadcasting it in its fast food packaging. It also has Tara Reid at a point before she was completely ruined and you know what? She's actually GOOD in it. My kid loves that she's the "dumb one" and loved pointing out all of the things that she was missing going on around her.

A $3 DVD at Big Lots played on a tiny portable DVD player in my kid's room = quiet happiness for mom and a kid who got more out of a well-intentioned movie than those it was previously released for.
