A Great American War Film!
I am a huge fan of war movies, like Saving Private Ryan and The Deer Hunter. I never heard of this movie before I got it off of my uncle one day, and I loved it. I just watched it before I got on to write this review.
The acting is amazing and the film has some great actors in it. The well known Tom Sizemore makes his appearence, have you noticed he stars in almost every major war movie made. Josh Hartnett makes his play as Eversmann, also playing along is Orlando Bloom and Ewan McGregor.
The thing that I really like about this movie is the realistic feel it has to it. Everything from tactics, to action and even the blood is realistic. The special effects are a very important thing in this film, there's not much but they were necessary when used. Ridley Scott, the director is widely known for his hit Gladiator....which was also very amazing. The film is also very inspirational...there is a character that cant fight because of a cast on his arm. In a particular sequence he wants to go back and help....so he begins to cut off his cast showing he will do anything to get in their and bring his friends back.
The bottom line is that this is a very emotionally based war film. You will watch this movie and not forget about it.
