Movie Review by Douglas
November 30th, 2007

From the theme song to the gritty portrayal of what life was really like facing the Germans, this is an outstanding television series. Eisenhower's questionable philosophy of not rotating experienced troops off the front line made this story possible. The strengths and faults of each soldier, whether it was abusiveness, cowardness, or incredible courage was all brought out vividly by the actors. Truly a directing and acting masterpieces. One of the great scenes involves an order for the Major to send soldiers across the river a second night to capture more Germans for interrogation purposes. Major Winters actions, which I assume were accurately portrayed, showed the incredible wisdom of this man.
