Movie Review by Zara
January 30th, 2007

It's bad... trainwreck bad

I watched this movie long before Ferrell had managed to pull off his version of stardom. Before getting the reputation for being a boozy manwh*re, back when his appearance might have been teen-idol worthy.

In an attempt to shoot a little youth into the western genre, the bad idea to try and replicate the YOUNG GUNS formula falls flat. There aren't enough strong male characters with clashing personalities to pull it off and Ferrell just looks hopelessly out of place on a horse.

What's interesting is that it managed to snag an Oscar winning actress in a minor role, although I suppose everyone has to slum it sometimes. I give the film more credit simply because I'm a Scott Caan fan. Take that or leave it however you see fit.
