Morgan Freeman IS Alex Cross

Fans of Detective Alex Cross will not be disappointed in this film adaptation of the book. Morgan Freeman, one of my very favorites, does an outstanding job of translating Cross to the big screen. So the script wasn't the best and there are implausible details in the film that will give you pause, it is always worth two hours of your time to see Morgan Freeman. As one reviewer states, "Freeman's performance -- one of laser-like perspicacity shining through eyes made narrow by a laconic, been-there-done-that cool -- is the film's ramrod-true spine." So, don't get too worked up over details and just enjoy Freeman and the lovely Monica Potter (Con Air, Saw).
