Loud and Cool

Thirteen Ghosts is a remake of the 1960's classic. The remake contains more gore, scares and a cooler, more visual hour and a half. There are moments in which will scare you, make you think, close your eyes and make your jaw drop to the floor.

In genres, this is a horror film, not a slasher movie. The makeup effects by Howard Berger and Greg Nicotero, is just amazing. There is not tons of galons of blood spraying and splattering around in this house. There are some attacks and minor violence, but there are 3 sequences in which did gross me out, and they are unforgettable scenes.

The house and production design is really good. The house looks cool as hell along with the inside. The camera does get annoying in some scenes, with a little but shakiness and there are sparks everywhere in the film.

The ghosts look truly scary. The only ones I remember are The Juggernaut, The Withered Lover and the Dying Mom and Starving Child. Along with the Angry Princess and something prince.

Bottom Line: It was cool.

I thought this film had the ability to be a really great film but it seemed that they failed at linking it all together..........the story and monsters where really cool and creepy but I think that the actors and characters where all wrong....

I agree with Tim, the characters were all wrong, but the ghosts and the effects were very cool. It's a very fun movie.
